    The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Board (EEB) advises and assists utility distribution companies in the development and implementation of comprehensive and cost-effective energy conservation and market transformation plans.

    Created in 1998 by the Connecticut State Legislature, the EEB advises and assists the state’s utility companies in developing and implementing cost-effective conservation programs to meet Connecticut’s changing and growing energy needs. It also guides the distribution of the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, money raised to support energy efficiency programs and initiatives through a surcharge on customer electric bills.


    May 16, 2012 United Illuminating Behavior Pilot Program Evaluation Final Report filed.

    With the approval of the Energy Efficiency Board's Evaluation Committee, a final report prepared by Tetra Tech, Inc. of the study it conducted of UI's Behavior Pilot Program has been filed with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority. The report may be found here. Interested parties have 14 days from this date to request a technical meeting at PURA to discuss the study and its results. Program administrators have 30 days from this date to communicate their responses to the report's recommendations.

    Notice of May 9, 2012 Public Input Session

    The EEB kicked off the process of preparing the 2013 Conservation and Load Management Plan with a Public Input Session on May 9 in Hearing Room 1-B at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. A large number of interested parties made use of the opportunity to provide information, comments, and suggestions to assist the board and the public utilities charged with preparing the plan.
